Home-grown Mushrooms are Ireland’s Most Important Horticulture Export
Monaghan was featured on the series Home Grown on Ireland’s national broadcasting network, RTÉ One in November 2022:
The programme is a celebration of horticulture in Ireland and highlights the significance of mushrooms as Ireland’s most important horticultural export.
The Home Grown feature, presented by Kitty Scully and Colm O’Driscoll, delved into the highly sustainable technology of mushroom production by Monaghan.
Presenter Kitty travelled to our Tyholland facility in Monaghan, one of the largest in the world – to discover the science and innovation behind the global success story of a modest company founded by a schoolteacher in 1980.
